school, school go away
come again some other day
for in the rain i want to play
school, school go away
i want to splash in puddles
without a
care in the world
no homework
no heart
just happiness
and childhood
but adults don’t have the
luxury of
remaining children
all their days
so hunched shoulders
wet feet
and scowls
become the order of
business
but sometimes being an
adult
means
being willing to
be a child
on a
rainy day
like
today
