a picture’s worth a thousand words
or so the story goes
yet whether those thousand words tell the truth
not even the negative knows
are you a vibrant comic
or a black-and white cynic?
at least we can tell
if you’re photogenic
look smart when you aren’t
and serious though you’re silly
the die for impressions
is cast willy-nilly
why the long face
when you’re not even sad?
and who’s to say that one’s good
and that’s bad?
are you a fake
and are you a faux?
not even the camera
and negative know
