what am i to do with You?

You have confounded me,

surrounded me with the laughter

of a thousand roaring rivers.

Your burning eyes have dazzled me

with the light of a million stars.

and who am i, to be so translated

from death into life?

who am i, to find Your

pierced hands twined with mine?

You are not safe, my wild Ransom,

never predictable, yet never-changing.

where could i run that You were not?

why would i ever want to leave Your light?

in You i live, Love, and nowhere else.

take me wherever You will, whatever i face.

burn Your hands onto my heart.

i am Yours, hold me; You are home.

i am Your bride, entranced by grace.
