not even …

Now the Jews’ Feast of Booths was at hand. So his brothers said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea, that your disciples also may see the works you are doing. For no one works in secret if he seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world.” For not even his brothers believed in him. — John 7:2-5

i wonder what Jesus’ crucifixion was like for them. i wonder what they thought after God raised Jesus from the dead.

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ … — James 1:1

james believed.

i wonder what it was like for mary, seeing Him crucified right before her eyes. and then seeing Him living and incorruptible. had a lifetime of pondering and treasured memories prepared her for anything like this?

it’s beautiful when “not even” turns into “even me.”
