no one understands the way things work between men and women, except God who in His infinite wisdom created them and made them not the same.
hey, not even the proverb-writer agur understood it. in proverbs 30 he says
There are three things which are too wonderful for me,
Four which I do not understand:
The way of an eagle in the sky,
The way of a serpent on a rock,
The way of a ship in the middle of the sea,
And the way of a man with a maid. (30:18-19)
no one’s completely mastered the way things work between us in however many thousands of years men and women have been around. there’s still that weird, mysterious (frustrating?) interplay of attraction and repulsion.
since i’ve already said no one understands this completely … i’ll just be honest and say i don’t think i understand it at all.
however, pictures are supposed to be worth a thousand words. i’ve got two for you.
sometimes i think the relationship between a man and a woman can be described like this …
—
and then sometimes i think it’s best described like this:
Have you ever read Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus? Might be an interesting read…I’ve not read it…but my husband has and said it was interesting.
i haven’t, supposing it to be a fluffy book of pseudo-psychology. but if your husband thinks it’s interesting, it must be worth at least looking at. :) thanks for the suggestion — i’ll check it out from the library. (i have read “for women only,” by … well, whoever it was.)
