falling for/aft shakespeare

after seeing a performance of the heart of america shakespeare festival’s “antony and cleopatra tonight, while everyone was standing around talking and working themselves up to the drive home, i got the sudden urge to fall flat on the ground.

so i did.

the looks on people’s faces were completely worth the jar to my skeleton.

i went to the play expecting to hear “my salad days, when i was green in judgment” — which i don’t remember hearing.

there was, however, this lovely line:

“now he’ll out-stare the lightning.”
