i suppose i could say

i suppose i could

say nothing happened today

but that is a lie

on the other side

of the world babies starved

bombs shattered the night

on the other side

of our town people fasted

praying to see God

while i sold flowers

ate cookies, wrote letters, and

tried to write a poem
