there is a time to keep,
and a time to throw away:
theatre programs
ticket stubs
dead plants
math tests
threadbare socks
old diaries
worn-out dreams;
there is a time to say goodbye
to what has served you well.

and there is a time to say hello
to the unknown at the burning edge
of the horizon,
waiting for what comes next.
