dwindling to dust

the butter-yellow tulip has now faded to cream, streaks of rose gracing the pale petals as they bend back toward the earth.

the butter-yellow tulip
has now faded to cream,
streaks of rose gracing
the pale petals as they
bend back toward the earth.
when my time of blooming
dwindles down to dust,
may i relax into death
with such grace, glorious
even in my unmaking.
