there it sits before me
in all its pretentious glory
sleek and fat
like a well-satisfied cat
just finishing a canary
superior to other marks
having two parts rather than one
it brings order to chaos
but leaves uninitiate lost and confused
i am a lowly acolyte serving at its shrine
but one day i’ll rebel, subjugate
make it permanently mine
then it shall be humble and behave
