life and love and death by the sea
the poet’s words sang inside of me
writing themselves to my melody
—
the words danced through my mind
entwining like vines around my heart
they became a part of me, lived, breathed
when they and i were joined inseparably
the words flowed from my mind through
my heart to my tongue and fingertips
and from my mouth poured forth the
joy of being and living and loving
i sang as my fingers danced over
black and white keys, not caring
then whether my voice pitched or
cracked because i had been able
to express what i held inside
and your words became mine
—
life and love and death by the sea
the poet’s words sang inside of me
writing themselves to my melody
