tonight while my bread was baking

i sneaked outside

and oh! the air was crisp and clean

the stars were shining vaguely overhead

slightly red

i watched them twinkle

as the glowing planes flew by

i sat down on the steps

wishing you were there

to be my blanket

be my pillow

and hold my hand

while i danced the time

between us away

but tomorrow’s not today

is it?

otherwise i’d memorize

your laugh

so you would always lurk

in the smokey shadows

of my memories

yet to be.

for now i wonder

if you hear the crickets

sing the way i do

as i dance in the dark

humming my

someday song

If you wrote this, as I’m assuming you did: Amazing. Love it. And I got tingles. Write some more!
